Local members of a Deaf community in Asia were instrumental in recent DOOR activities. They helped DOOR International’s Deaf translation team organize a community testing session and a Deaf family camp.
The Deaf believers here are eager to come alongside DOOR’s work. They help DOOR’s 2-by-2 teams gather questions for the Translator’s Notes project. Different denominations are using DOOR’s Chronological Bible Translation in their fellowships and Sunday services.
As they interact with DOOR International, Deaf people encounter God’s Word in their heart sign language. Lives like Manny’s are forever changed:
“My name is Manny, and I am Deaf. I was born and brought up in an orthodox Christian family. My parents are hearing.
“As a child, I went to church with my parents, but I did not understand what was going on. I did not know much about Jesus. Later, when a Deaf missionary came to my school, he taught me about Jesus and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. However, I did not know that Satan is always trying to destroy my faith and lead me astray from Jesus.
“Fortunately, one of DOOR’s Deaf leaders gave me the Chronological Bible Translation on DVD. The narrative from Ephesians 6:10-20 changed my life. I now understand that each believer in Jesus must put on the armor of God in order to withstand against the evil power.
“Today, I am very careful and enjoying my life in Jesus Christ. Thank God for His Word and for the people who are translating God’s Word into my language. May God bless you all!”
